The residential community of Stonebriar in Frisco, Texas, is telling its residents what make and model of auto they can and can’t park in their own driveways.
Stonebriar resident James Greenwood just bought a new Ford F-150 pickup and when he parked it in his driveway, he received violation notices from the homeowners association.
The notice told Greenwood that he was in violation of a subdivision rule that prohibits pickup trucks in the driveway. However, not ALL pickups are prohibited.
The rules of the HOA allow pickups like the Chevy Avalanche, Honda Ridgeline, Cadillac Escalade and the Lincoln Mark LT.
Ford, Dodge or Chevy pickups are prohibited.
In addition to those three brands, boats, trailers, golf carts, and RVs are not allowed in driveways. Greenwood appealed the HOA’s notices, and claimed that his Ford F-150 isn’t very different from a Lincoln Mark LT.
The HOA responded by saying that Lincolns are marketed toward a “different class of people.”
Think Stonebriar is discriminating against Greenwood and his Ford? Let them know:

Call the Texas State Attorney General’s Office and request that it is a serious matter that they need to start regulating HOA’s. An entrenched HOA can do any number of things to maintain power over the owners and bill the owners to pay themselves, their lawyers, and their cronies. HOA’s attract profiteering cronies and because they are private corporations there is no law protecting homeowners from rigged elections, from increased fees, and from no-bid contracting to then spend and distribute the HOA fee money. If an HOA is corrupt it is almost impossible for a homeowner to defend themselves because the HOA uses their fee base to hire attorneys who are all too willing to work for them and gain billable hours.
Many unsuspecting homeowners have bought property that is controlled by an unethical HOA. It is a serious and contemporary matter and the HOA “Concept” needs to be evaluated by the Attorney General’s Office and unethical HOA’s need to be accountable.
Go buy a very pimped out Cadilac Escalade.
