Seems like restaurants up in Canada aren’t having a good run these past couple of months. First it was the waitress who was fired for shaving her head for a cancer fund drive [view story], and now this Awful Incident…
Smitty’s, a Canadian restaurant chain, kicked an autistic girl and her family out of its Edmonton, Alberta location this past Saturday because other diners commented that the child was too noisy.
Sarah Seymour, mother of five-year old Eowyn, admitted that her daughter had been upset that her favorite food wasn’t on the menu, and had been kicking the table, but takes issue with the way the situation was handled.
Seymour told CBC News that they were told by the waiter that another patron at the restaurant refused to pay for his food unless Eowyn was removed from the premises.
The family tried to explain their daughter’s condition to restaurant management, but were rebuffed and shown the door.
Think the restaurant handled this badly? Let them know:

Wow are you kidding me? The poor girl. Do these people even know what conducting business means? Or do they have a financial deathwish for their restaurant?
