Best Buy Calls Police on Customer Who Gives Bad Product Review

The original e-mail about this is over at The Consumerist, but here’s the gist: A woman walked into the Best Buy store in East Brunswick, NJ to purchase a new bluetooth headset. She was unhappy with her Jawbone headset and was looking for a replacement.

While she was in the headset aisle considering her options, she noticed another customer pick up the Jawbone headset, the same kind she was looking to replace.

When she mentioned to him that she didn’t have good luck with the Jawbone and didn’t recommend it, a Best Buy manager by the name of Tom came up behind her and requested that she leave the store.

She initially refused to leave and tried to contact Best Buy’s corporate customer service on her phone - and while she was doing this, Tom called the police.

Faced with several employees and two police officers staring her down, she complied and left the store.

Now Best Buy can certainly ask someone to leave their premises - but in this case, it’s obvious that the manager was upset about losing the sale. Now he has not only lost the sale, but also brought a PR nightmare down on his store, and Best Buy in general.

It seems as if Best Buy is one of the top companies out there that people just love to hate. And for good reason too - they have a pretty long record of doing awful things like this.

Think Best Buy screwed up? Give the store a call at (732) 257-5293 and let them know how you feel.

Yeah they’re pretty lame. Here’s a guy who was asked by Best Buy to get a new e-mail address because it was “too similar” to another customer’s e-mail address. Stupid.
