Peter Pan driver holds passengers captive on bus

Passengers on a Peter Pan Lines bus, bound from New York to Boson last weekend were held captive at the Framingham, Mass. stop by a driver seeking revenge for a rider’s complaint.

The driver, Neil Bryant, was angry after a passenger called the company from a cellphone on the bus, alleging that the bus was swerving across the road.  The driver stopped the bus in Framingham early (due to skipping a planned rest stop on the highway) but refused to let any passengers off the bus until the set arrival time of 5 PM.

According to passenger Brian Moore (read his blog entry on the ordeal) the driver stood at the front of the bus and told the riders that since “you’ve aggravated me, I’m going to aggravate you.” Passengers apparently tried to reason with the driver, but to no avail.

He even refused to let a woman off the bus when she insisted she needed something for her baby.  The driver was very clear that he was keeping the bus doors closed because someone had called the company regarding his driving.

The driver, who has worked for the company for about 3 years, will face a company hearing on Monday.

Think that the driver was wrong?  Let Peter Pan know.
