Holiday travel gets off to bad start!

AirplaneWhat were you expecting, good news? As usual, we’re approaching the busiest travel time of the year, and things are all screwed up again.

At Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport today, both incoming and outgoing flights were stopped when 2 of the control towers lost all radio communications. The delays at DFW caused a ripple effect, delaying flights in other cities across the country.

If it’s not the radios, it’s mother nature:

  • Georgia: Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta - flights delayed up to an hour due to heavy fog.
  • California: Bob Hope Airport in Burbank - temporary shutdown due to fog.
  • Metro NJ/NY: Newark International Airport and LaGuardia Airport - delays due to high winds.
  • Chicago: O’Hare International Airport - delays due to heavy cloud cover.

Looking out later in the week:

  • Colorado: heavy snow expected Tuesday and Wednesday

Good luck if you’re out there flying the not-so-friendly skies to grandma’s this week!
